A one hour (which I won’t be strict on!) design consultation, where I would give up my time and in exchange the homeowner would make a suggested donation of £40 to a charity within the Business Network (or split it for each of the charities).

This kind of consultation may suit someone thinking about the feasibility of a project (whether it may be a new home, a home extension or a renovation / conversion project), how to take a potential project forward and what  regulations and fees they would expect to encounter if they intend to take a project to completion.

In celebration of three developments in mediation in April

1. The Governments announcement that it is making mediation compulsory for all parties in cases of up to £15,000 in value as well as changing the rules on legal costs in higher value cases that will make ignoring mediation more foolhardy than it is already is

2.  Last night’s UK premier  of a brand new US TV drama series called ‘Fairly Legal’  about a ‘ ‘recovering attorney’ who retires, on moral grounds, from the law, to become a mediator to deliver more professionally satisfying client focused solutions.

3. The invitation by the Ministry of Justice to our member Graham Ross, a lawyer/mediator who heads The Mediation Room, a worldwide panel of mediators, to set up a pilot for applying technology into family mediation,

and to help members into the big secret that is business mediation,  Graham is offering a free one hour,in person, audit of the litigation risks that you may currently  run and advice on how various mediation techniques can be integrated into your current practices, whether  supply chain, HR, or, Graham’s personal speciality, partner/co-director/co-shareholder disputes”
