Is your company compliant with recent employment law changes ?!
At this months seminar to be held on Wednesday 18th May at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel & Spa, Mark Bestley of SAS Daniels LLP will address three important employment law issues that your business should be aware of in 2011
About the Presenter
Mark is Senior Partner at SAS Daniels as well as Partner in their Employment Group. He has over 30 years experience – and is highly regarded in Cheshire – as an expert in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law. Mark is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
During this highly informative seminar Mark will address the following key changes affecting your business:
Abolition of default retirement age
With effect from 06 April 2011, the default retirement age of 65 is effectively abolished and employers will have to rethink their strategies and work force practices in the light of this change
New maternity and paternity regulations
New regulations, taking effect on 06 April 2011, effectively allow the sharing of leave and pay between mother and father (including adoptive parents). Employers must be aware of these changes, particularly to avoid getting into administrative and managerial difficulties.
Health screening employees after the Equality Act
The Equality Act generally prohibits health related questionnaires prior to offering a job.
Employers need to reconsider their recruitment practices in light of the new legislation as well as being aware of the available exceptions.
