Pupils work on tablets which they can write longhand on using special pens. The school estimates it will save around £100,000 a year on printing, paper and pens.

Kids can even watch in real time as their teachers mark their homework online.

Deputy headmaster Stewart Ayres is in charge of 21st Century Technology at the school: “We put all our notes online and the students can see what is ahead for each day.”

“When they are working we can notate for them in real time and comment on what they are doing. It’s a completely different idea and way of teaching.”
